Mobile Food Pantry Program
The Mobile Food Pantry Program is Second Harvest’s newest initiative. The goal of the program is to provide food assistance to families and individuals in need in rural and underserved communities. Second Harvest partners with churches, community centers, public housing complexes, fire halls and other organizations to plan the distribution of a truckload of food. In order to promote balanced meals, the mobile food pantry typically distributes not only boxed and canned goods, but also bread and baked goods, fresh produce, and frozen and refrigerated foods, such as meat and dairy products.
At all mobile food pantry visits:
- Participation is free.
- Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
